Accessibility

At Archipelago we always strive to make our websites as accessible and user-friendly as possible. Where compromises are required, we can advise on the likely impacts and outcomes.

From creating content in a way that visually-impaired people can hear through a screen reader, to making sure that people with motor problems can navigate our sites easily using their keyboards, letting them easily skip over repeated sections of the page (like the main menu).

We build our sites in accordance with international standards, such the W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 – released on 11 December 2008, and also keep on top of developments in accessibility, such as work on The British Standards Institute’s new British Standard for Web Accessibility (BS 8878), a draft of which was published December 2008.

If you do experience any problems using this site (or any of our clients’ sites), or have any comments or suggestions, please get in touch.
