This is a great demonstration of how we can explain processes and mechanisms with as few words as possible.
We’ve made a few improvements since the first version:
Layered Information
Extra layers of information can be incorporated into an animation without cluttering the main presentation. To do this we’ve added some ‘further info’ boxes and some ‘camera movement’ to help set the scene and add focus.
Other Changes
Following feedback on the original version we have shown both turbines spinning the same way for clarity – although, in practice, they are often mounted in counter-rotating pairs.
What’s next?
• Detailed view of Wells Turbine mechanism
• Incorporate Photos & Video clips
• Produce non-Flash version for universal access
• Produce downloadable version for offline viewing
