Predator turned Prey

Following a commission by international conservation group The Shark Alliance, we have created campaign materials for European Shark Week including printed booklets and a short animated film, in 7 different languages.

The key challenge in this work was to put the current campaign into context for people who weren’t familiar with the issues. Many Europeans are not aware that Sharks are a critical part in the ecosystem in European waters, and tend to see shark conservation as an issue more pertinent to other parts of the world.

The legislation on shark finning is widely open to abuse because of its complexity, and we needed to get straight to the point, without getting tied up in detail. It was also important to maintain a positive and determined tone throughout.

The original score by our composer and producer, Alan Miller, was key to setting the right atmosphere and creating dramatic impact without sensationalising the issues.
